St. Peter’s Basilica

A Magnificent Wonder of the World

St Peter’s is a wonder of the world. It is one of those places that not only lives up to what you ever imagined but surpasses your hopes. Standing in the square and examining the facade of this magnificent place, is well worth it. I recommend that you take your time. This is definitely not a “snap a picture and go” type of experience. The interior is magnificent, and no photo can prepare you for being there. A climb up to the dome is well worth the effort. This place will live in my memory as long as I live.

Sagrada Familia

Outstanding tour of a unique basilica

This was an amazing tour. I have visited many European basilicas and cathedrals. This one is very unique since the majority has been built just in the last 40 years. The designs are clearly Gaudì, but the execution of 3/4 of the building, including all of the inside, uses modern techniques and is amazing to behold. I can’t wait to return when it is finished in 3+ years. I would highly recommend Sagrada Famiia’s tour to anyone who visits Barcelona. You won’t regret it.

Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris

Majestic Cathedral of Paris

Despite the fire and ongoing repairs, you can still get quite close to the cathedral to see the work and enjoy the facade. It’s also well seen via boat tour. The plan is to reopen in Spring 2024 before the Summer Olympics. Everyone is working hard to have it ready in time as it’s an icon of Paris and a point of pride. Although you cannot presently go inside due to the renovations, you can book a VR tour, which is a fantastic tour. That tour lets you see the construction from inception to present – including what happened during the fire and the work being done to repair it.
